Mark’s other current roles are chair of Nene Potatoes, chair of the Fresh Potato Suppliers Association, non-executive director at Caledonia Potatoes, and a board member with British Growers.

Since standing down from the full time role of CEO of Berry Gardens in 2017 after 23 years, Nicholas has retained his involvement in the produce and food industry, serving as chairman of the UK berry industry trade body British Berry Growers,, as well as a non-executive director on the boards of large-scale berry growers Hugh Lowe Farms, combinable crops co-operative Openfield, start-up vegetable crisp manufacturer Growers Garden, and field vegetable co-operative East of Scotland Growers.

Susan Barratt is CEO of IGD, an organisation of two interconnected communities, Commercial Insight (our Trading Company) and Social Impact (our Charity). Together, these work to drive change that makes a tangible difference for Society, Business and the Individual, through the food and consumer goods industry.Susan has built her career in the food and consumer goods industry, predominantly in the UK and with spells in Costa Rica and the US. Susan has worked for food manufacturing companies Bakkavor, Natures Way Foods and Higgidy, and for multi-site restaurant and pub businesses Whitbread and Eldridge Pope. In addition to being CEO of IGD, Susan is currently a Non-Executive Director of A.G. Barr PLC.

Andy Pembroke was appointed the new Managing Director of Fresh Direct, the country’s leading foodservice fresh produce wholesaler, in January 2023.
Prior to this appointment, Pembroke had been with Fresh Direct for more than 10 years, having previously held senior roles in supply chain and manufacturing and most recently as Fresh Direct’s Sales Director.
Since becoming Sales Director, Pembroke has been credited with creating a more focused, customer-first proposition, helping customers to navigate the challenges of the pandemic, Brexit and cost-of-living crisis. At the same time, he has helped bring together Sysco’s fresh businesses, Wild Harvest, M&J Seafood and Fresh Direct, allowing customers to consolidate their deliveries and save time and money.

David also runs the human rights consultancy allianceHR and is founder and chair of Stronger Together, a global not-for-profit that provides businesses with practical training, resources, business services and collaborative programmes to embed responsible recruitment and employment practices and to mitigate labour exploitation in their operations and supply chains.
